“Big Sunday” Art Contest Winners
On Sept. 11, PFP Vice President John Perez and Consultant Carrie Sutkin congratulated the winners of the “What I Did on Big Sunday” art contest at Trinity and 28th Street elementary schools.
Joining Perez and Sutkin at 28th Street were LAUSD Board President Monica Garcia’s aide, Sadia Afolabi, who selected the winning entries, along with Principal Rigoberto Rodriguez and Assistant Principal Marta Jevenois. The winners were Joucelin Cuevas, Emely Herrera and Josephine Ochoa, who has since promoted to middle school.
Perez and Sutkin were joined at Trinity by City Councilwoman Jan Perry’s education deputy, Pamela Huntoon, who judged the entries, and teacher Mayra Thompson. The winners were Itzel Flores, Lucero Villegas and Anna Lieberman, who now attends another school, but was represented by her mother, a counselor at Trinity.
The six budding artists each received a $50 gift card from Target.
