Trinity Elementary Community-School Park Grand Opening!

On Saturday, Jan. 28, Trinity Elementary was filled with blue skies, soccer balls, green thumbs and happy kids as People for Parks and the L.A. Unified School District dedicated the first Community-School Park in South Los Angeles, which will be open weekends and summers. Principal Marta Jevenois and two young students opened a brief program with the Pledge of Allegiance in English and Spanish. Speakers included PFP's Jack Foley and John Perez, School Board President Monica Garcia and LAUSD Local District Superintendent Roberto Martinez. And then, led by a team of Cal State Long Beach students, it was time for the kids to have fun, fun, fun.
