Community School Parks

Community School Parks (CSPs) are supervised school-site playgrounds that are open to the public on weekends, holidays and during the summer and feature dynamic programming carried out by school staff.

Too many of Los Angeles elementary school playgrounds are asphalt "heat islands," and too many LA neighborhoods have no park for children to play. By tearing up the pavement and planting grassy fields and shade trees, we can transform schoolyards into healthier places for students to play and learn, and for the surrounding community to enjoy during non-school hours.
