A Garden Grows in Nickerson Gardens

There hasn't been a real garden in Nickerson Gardens for years – until mid-August, when residents led by Lucelia Hooper, People for Parks Executive Director Jim Stewart, and an L.A. Conservation Corps crew led by Teague Weybright converged at an overgrown lot in the South L.A. housing development. PFP is sponsoring more than 50 redwood planting beds in “Vista Hermosa.”
